Grooming Service

While professional grooming is necessary for many cat and dog breeds to prevent painful matting, some pets are unable to attend conventional grooming establishments due to fearful and stress related behaviour. For these cats and dogs, we offer clipping and grooming services under sedation or general anaesthesia.

Typically, long or curly haired breeds are most susceptible to matting, but pets experiencing dermatological issues, regardless of hair length, can also benefit from clipping. Excess fur can entrap dirt and moisture which can create a breeding ground for bacteria and skin problems, especially if your pet is already predisposed to skin irritations. Maintaining a short coat can also be beneficial in these circumstances as it allows for topical treatments to be applied more directly onto the skin.

Given that fur plays a crucial role in enabling animals to regulate their body temperature and maintain warmth during colder months, we generally recommend for full clips to be reserved for the warmer seasons.
