Veterinarian

Dr Michelle joined the Inner South Vet Team in May 2022. Michelle is well known in the Canberra veterinary community, being the previous Emergency Director at the Animal Referral Hospita.. Michelle is also sometimes seen on the emergency scene at Canberra Veterinary Emergency Service.

Michelle grew up locally, on her family farm on the shores of Lake George near Tarago. To pursue her lifelong dream, she studied Veterinary Science at Charles Sturt University in Wagga where she graduated with first class honours in mid 2015. As a new graduate Michelle went straight to the emergency hospital where she learned to handle a fast-paced environment, keep a cool head when it counts and how to manage a large variety of cases.

Dr Michelle will always have a love for emergency cases and gladly takes these on when they present to general practice. Michelle's other special interests include internal medicine, snake envenomation and trauma. Since graduation Michelle has also completed several leadership and management courses, as well as a graduate certificate in emergency and critical care with Melbourne University.

Outside of the veterinary world, Dr Michelle enjoys horse riding, training, and coaching. She also loves spending time with her family and her three canine companions – Snoopy and Ding the retired working Kelpies and Charlie the adopted Dachshund. You will see Charlie around the clinic whenever Michelle is in.
