Hallie Butcher graduated from James Cook University in 2008 with Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons).  At JCU she was awarded a Primary Health Care Research Evaluation and Development (PHCRED) fellowship for her honours project entitled ‘The perceptions and expectation for rehabilitation and return to work in orthopaedic road trauma victims.’

Since completing her studies Hallie has worked with the A league soccer, NBL, WNBL, cricket NSW development teams, Sydney A grade cricket, Australian para-equestrian riders and the Australian Defence Force.

She completed her Graduate Certificate in Veterinary Physiotherapy in 2016. She is working towards gaining her Masters of Veterinary Physiotherapy in 2017 through the University of Liverpool. Hallie has finally managed to combine her love of physiotherapy in people with her love of animals and equestrian sport!

Hallie has competed in equestrian sports since she was 8 years old and is passionate about dog obedience training. She instructs at the Canberra Companion Dog Club where she also participates with two of her own dogs.

Physiotherapy can play a significant role in a wide range of animal diseases and problems.

Physio is valuable in:-

  • Pets recovering from trauma, orthopaedic or spinal surgery
  • Older, stiff and arthritic animals
  • Pets with neurological diseases
  • Muscular injuries and weaknesses

In addition to physiotherapy and massage therapy, Hallie uses a variety of other treatments such as ultrasonic and electrical stimulation methods. Her gentle touch and skilled hands mean that your pet is very likely to really enjoy their appointments and consider a trip to the physio a great way to indulge in extra special attention!

There are so many ways in which physiotherapy can benefit our much loved pets and we are very enthused to have such top of the range care at our fingertips!

Hallie is consulting from the Inner South Veterinary Centre on odd Saturdays. Please call reception to make an appointment with Hallie.
